hi there i'm building a new computer for work use (and a little bit of gaming :) )

Looking at getting the DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 ULTRA-D mb and x2 4400+

What sort of ocz ram would be best for this motherboard and the line of work i do? (web and graphic design, bit of 3d and video editing)

[OCZ] DDR 1024MB PC3200 DUAL CHANNEL GOLD EDITION KIT
or
[OCZ] DDR 1024MB PC3200 DUAL CHANNEL GOLD VOLTAGE EXTREME KIT
or
[OCZ] DDR 1024MB PC3200 PLATINUM DUAL CHANNEL REVISION 2
or
[OCZ] DDR 1024MB PC3200 ENHANCED LATENCY DUAL CHANNEL

looking at getting 2gb. If there's any other ram on that site listed feel free to recommend it, as that's where i am most likely to get the computer from.

thanks guys

If you are looking for 2GB's it would be best to get a 2GB kit (i.e. 2x1024MB sticks)

For the tightest timings these are the ones to get. The have limited overclocking potential so if you want to overclock skip on these

If you want to do some overclocking without spending lots of money these would be a good choice

And the best overclocking sticks would be these

Out of the 1GB kits you selected. These would be my choices in order of preference.

Thanks a lot steve, maybe by the time i get around to ordering the parts i'll be able to find some ocz ram like the ones you suggested. They just don't seem to be available anywhere here.

Could you or someone tell me why it's better to have 2 x 1gb sticks than 4 x 512mb sticks? i've always heard about this but never had it fully explained.

thanks again

From what's I've read having 2x1gb sticks provides a more stable system, and more potential for a higher overclock because with 4 sticks, not all 4 sticks might be able to reach the same oc, so if you have one stick that can't reach the same speeds as the other 3 then your OC is limited. That's jsut my .02, correct me if I'm wrong.
