I have an Asus cusl2 mb and i wanted to know if the top 3 celerons would work in my board.

1/ celeron 1000
2/ celeron 1100
3 celeron 1200 ( i know this is quite unlikely )

What is the overclocking potential of a celeron 1ghz or 1.1 ghz

The 1000 and the 1100 should work, they are the Copermine core. The 1200 is the new tualatin core, it has different pinout and lower voltage. I don't think your board is tualatin ready. So the highest celeron is the 1100 copermine core.

If your board has the 815e b step chipset, you should be able to use tualatin core celeron. I'll check if your board has that and post back.

ok your board has the 815e chipset, heres intels specs on it.

With the Intel® 815E chipset, Intel introduces innovative technology to optimize flexibility and stability in Intel® Celeron® and Intel® Pentium® III processor-based PCs. This complete platform solution supports both .13 micron and .18 micron process technology, PC133/100 SDRAM memory, and utilizes a single driver featuring full backward compatibility for increased quality and reliability.

I'll check around to see if anyone accually stuck a tualatin core in it. From the looks of it, there might be a chance of it working.

I dunno man, Asus released the Tusl2-c to support Tualatins, so I dont think the Cusl2 would support it.

no the asus cusl2 and cusl2-c doesn't support new tualalin cpu because these mainboards are i815EP stepB Fc-pga1, and the new tusl2 mainboards are i815E/EP stepA Fc-pga2 ...
but if you have a slot1 mainboard you can make a tualatin fit there by buying the new adapter....

ahhhh, it's nice to see the abit bh6 at the top there. :) I won't be able to justify the upgrade until there's a 1.5GHz Celeron at the bottom of the price range though. So what's that? A year?
