I don't know if you guys have seen them yet, but there are some really cool new modded x-box cases out there, clear lexas/acrylic with lights and stuff. I know it's been done with other systems, but pretty sweet with the box!

here are some really cool vinyl skins too!

Ive deff seen them, ill be modding mine on the outside soon. I already have my modchip in there with my 80gig hd!! :D:D i love it, i have programs to copy games onto the HD so i can just rent stuff and have it forever. Also i have other apps i use off my custom dash such as multimedia progs, emulators (n64 radical dude), and other stuff. I can FTP anything from or too it too..really awesome :)

most people just paint them and change the main LED's, and the top jewel. Pretty radical..if you want to learn more go to xbox-scene.com its an amazing site / forum with everything you need.

I have a xbox, but in no rush to mod it. A good mod for someone to do is make their computer boot a xbox os so it can play xbox games, just stick the console in your case and make a integrated video switch that will switch between xbox/pc video feed to your monitor or overclock it!

Oh man , where do i begin ...

"A good mod for someone to do is make their computer boot a xbox os so it can play xbox games"

You mean emulate ? For emulators to work the rule of thumb is your system has to be several times faster then the system its emulating to run smoothly ... plus its never exactly like the original ROM on its native system. Just buy a used XBox for ~$100 and save yourself the trouble.

" just stick the console in your case "

Eh, again , could be done , but why ?

"wand make a integrated video switch that will switch between xbox/pc video feed to your monitor "

Not unless I missed s-video/composite to DVI/VGA converters falling from the heavens.

"or overclock it!"

I have read it being attempted , and is prolly possible . but again ... why ? If you manage to increase the clockrate you will undoubtibly increase the game speed . I would like to see you play games at 2x :D ... emulators for other consoles (especially the really old ones) for the xbox have to manage clockrate by slowing the games down in order to run at there original speed. GPU clockrate might be worth a try ... but due the constraints of space and cooling inside the OEM xbox shell i cant see you getting any 'worthwhile' returns.

I did my best to explain certain aspects of emulation without directly mentioning anvenues of piracy; i know you mods are always watching :D

theMonster , feel free to slap some of those comments in your other thread if you like.

As far as overclocking, Dream-X will hook your Xbox up with a celeron 1400 for a fee...

Nope, it's just a windows to Xbox port, no Linux at all.
