It's both, it's DDR SDRAM, the older ram is just plain SDRAM.

ah ok ( so if i bought the 2x gig version of this particular ram id be safe for my mobo? )

2x1gig pc3200(400MHz) will work on your board. Do you need 2gig?

i just got the mushkin blue 2gb kit and i am really lovin it in bf2. i have the same motherboard as you and it works great together. ocz also has a good 2gb kit out that is a little easier to find
