Im about to buy a neopower 480 antec cause i dont feel like getting anymore delivieries.

Im getting a pretty good deal on it and the store only sells antec psu's.
I currently have a 350w antec which is crippiling my system and stopping my overclocks real bad.

System is in my sig and theres only one hard drive and 14 fans.

So is it worth it for the neo power ??
The only other option is the True Control 550

Heres a link for each one..

As an ex-Neopower owner, do not get it if you plan on overclocking. Overall it's a good power supply, but I didn't think the 12v was strong enough.

what about the true control 550?

I would tend to agree the TruePower 550 Would be a better choice.

Any reason your only taking Antec into consideration?

i dont feel like ordering anything and waiting for deliveries. I work on the road alot and cant wait around for ups or fedex.

I jsut want a strong psu for my newley bought x800pro that does 650+ but wont on this psu cause the rails drop to like 11.60 on the 12v.
Right now i have 2 psu's goin , the second is powering my 14 fans and my optical drives and the rails when gaming are horrible. 11.69 average.

I love my current 350w antec and its been a good cpu till i got a x800.
Even when u start up ati tool's spinnin cube the whole system whines down.
Problems really only happen when the card is overclocked. thats when the rails really drop.

Im leaning more twords the 550 now.

It really doesnt matter, because no matter what it is already alot better than your current one. So go for it, my friend has one with his x800pro and is does fine.

ok i got the true control 550 and its a beast.

Best thing about it is the control center that goes into a drive slot.

On the psu theres a molex connector labled fans. Plug all ur fans into it and u can contril all your fans spees from the control center on the front of the computer.

I just love that. I can turn down 14 fans with one dial....AWESOME!!

I also have some dedicated fan pluggs but mine dont really work. I noticed this one day feeling the fans that were plugged in normally and the ones that were plugged into the "fan" plug, the "fan" pluggd fans didnt even put out half as much air as the regular plugged ones.

Oh well different psu's, yours probaly works fine.

yea im lovin it. I hooked up 14 fans to 2 fan molex's and now i can go from silent to screaming with one dial.

Fans spin right up to full speed.

This was almost worth the price that i payed for the psu.
Now i can leave the computer on all night almost silent and not wake up feeling like i slept in a subway.
