I've been following alot of the people who have been scammed stories, and have decided to come up with this helpful guide.

First: Contact the seller. Give him a 5 day deadline to get back to you before you take further measures. Sometimes its not a scam, sometimes the persons just busy. If he says the item will ship within a certain time frame in his auction, I.E. "Will ship within a week of the recieving payment," Send him emails or ebay messages asking him for the dc code during this time frame, but not once a day, wait till he responds.

During this time period, it is alos suggested you contact someone else who won an auction from the seller before you.

Second: If he refuses to give you a delivery confirmation during or after the time period he said he would ship is completed, give him 4 more days for the package to get to your door.

Third: Contact SSS! Or post in these forums. State EVERYTHING that you have done, include links to the Ebay members page and ebay auction, as well as state whether he has responded to emails. It would be good to include the full responses, as well as your full emails to the seller, but thats not really necessary.

Fourth: now that two whole weeks have passed, and he has NOT sent you your item, it is time for you to be royally ticked ;). Start sending him emails every day, try and get his phone number/address.

If you used paypal: Contact Paypal. I suggest using the Phone. Tell them of your problem

In order to reverse the transaction, you must call them via phone, or email them. Follow the above link for contact information.

If you used Money Order: You have their address. That is your most powerfull tool. Contact local law enforcement(theirs) with whatever evidence you have that he literally just stole your money. Include Ebay transaction information, etc. as well as the reciept for your money order.

If you used Bidpay: Bidpay basically says "as soon as we send the check, we are no longer responsible if lost or stolen"(http://bidpay.com/terms.asp)

How do you protect yourself?

Make sure the person is PAYPAL VERIFIED. Also make sure he has 90% or greater Ebay Feedback, this means paypal will reimburse you the full amount, while if the person has less than 90%, you never really know if you'll get the full amount or what.

DONT use bidpay! They care even less than Ebay.

Ask the seller a question BEFORE the auction. This will confirm that he actually responds to emails. It also lets you know the guy is alive :p, as well as helps give hints as to the persons integrity and moral charachter.
