got new bfg 6800 want to install my WC to it, lets say i do it now and a few months down the road something goes wrong,if I replace the ori. h/f and then send it back to BFG to get a replacement could they be able to tell I used water cooling or do they just do a visaul check to see if the ori. heatsink/f is on properly? Iwant to be sure I can get a replacement if something down the road happens

yes yes I know using WC voids the warranty

Thanks all

You could probably get away with it if you had a thermal pad to replace the hsf on the 6800. Well and did not scratch the gpu.

they use just regular ol white themal paste on it, I'm swimming in that....so they wouldn't know the difference, nothing would probably go wrong with the watercooling but I was just wondering if it did could i send it back

By the way has anyone every done that? changes the ori. h/f put it back on then get a new one?

You also have to consider ethics. It would be unethical to return it for warrantee if you broke it because you spilled water on it. If it just broke because of "natural" causes(ie some part on the card failed) then in my opinion it can still be returned. But, I am sure some people here take the ethics to even that.

To clarify,
Ethics aside I agree 100% I did not mean to sound as if we should besnirch the company only that it would be possable given the failure of some mechanical part of the card.
