hi everyone

How much of a speed increase could I expect to get from my ram if I was feeding it 3.5-6 volts.

I have 2x512 of Mushkin level 2 black bh5's that I bought almost 2 years ago. I was previously running with a divider so I never really pushed the ram.I plan on moving to amd and getting a 4000+, and a dfi mobo.

I've been testing the ram, and at 2.8volts the ram in dual channel will do 300+loops of Memtest86+ at 225mhz in 1:1, but no higher.(2-3-2-5-4)

what do you guys think? what do most people get when using more volts?

bh-5 is meant to do tight timings. GIve it ~3.5V and set to 2-2-2-6 and i think you would see around 240-250 fsb 1:1 ?

Maybe someone more experienced in BH-5 can elaborate on this, but that is the common voltage/ timings I have seen.

Great Ram, may favorite in fact. I run mine for benching @ 3.7v - 270mhz
But for 24/7 use I wouldn't go over 3.3-3.4v unless you have active cooling for the Ram. With 3.4v you should get close to 250mhz 2-2-2-3

mine is rock solid @ 250 2-2-2-5 @ 3.2vdimm. i bet i could hit 260 with it if this winnie didnt suck so hard

running mine [email protected](2-2-2-5)

BFG 6800Ultra (450/1150)
CORSAIR PC3500C2 @263fsb (2-2-2-5)
2x WD 36gig Raptors raid0
Ocz Powerstream 520Watts

you sould be able to run 250fsb easy with 2-2-2-5 timings on A64 architecture...... however since you're using Intel I can't guarantee how high you'll get those. Mushkin BH-5 is some of the best. Depending on how your sticks scale you should be able to get a good amount of overclock using 3.3-3.5v. As already mentioned, active cooling is very helpful. Test it out and let us know how it goes. You may be limited by the voltage on your mb, but if you have over 3v then use it. GL

Well thanks for the replies everyone.

At 2-3-3-5-4 I can only goes as far as 225mhz at 2.8v....I get memtest errors on test 5 on the tenth pass at 226. 225 did 600 passes

I will be moveing to amd as soon as the new ati cards are out so I'm hoping a new board with some volts will put me where you guys are.

which amd processors can do a multiplyer of 12? Can a 4000+?....say I get 260 @ (2-2-2-5) and under phase I can do 3120.....
