View Full Version : New XP: trace tape effective?

Just got a new Athlon XP 1700 today. I noticed there is a laser-cut trench between the L1 bridges (doh!). I was thinking about using trace tape. But, do you think defogging paint would be just as effective?
People have been having problems w/ the paint, because the trench is so deep. Trace tape might be an idea, if you have it.
I was just thinking about that earlier myself, actually.

Yeah, I was thinking about buying some trace tape but it's like $20 for three pieces from Plycon, ouch! $18 for two pieces from CardCooler.
Where can I get this tape from. I live in the uk so help me here. I hate the uk for hardware it sux

I'm not sure about the UK. It is available at CardCooler (http://www.cardcooler.com/) and Plycon (http://www.plycon.com/) both of which are in the US.

Does anyone know if someone is making the trace tape for the XP's? They have 5 bridges! Not 4!

That's a good question. I'm not sure. However, I suppose you could use one piece and a portion of another and it would still work.

they come with the new golden socket. I have no idea where to just get the trace tape.
