I have a pc based on the amd K6 III 450mhz cpu, and I am suffering from persistent blue screens of death, mainly on system shutdown. I have re-installed tthe operating system 3 times but the problem persists. I have heard rumous that AMD processors sometimes need 300 watt power supply's to run this type of machine. Can anyone help?
Help us help you, post some more information about your system, motherboard, heat sink fan etc.

The K6-III can get real hot with their stock HSF, at least that what happend to me... Now I'm running a Socket A HSF and its overclocked and works fine... No BSODs... More specs about your system could help a lot

Yeah I had a SocketA Taisol hs with delta running on my old 450Mhz AMD K6-2. Got it overclocked to 523Mhz, but it wouldn't go higher. Prolly coz the old user underclocked it to 350Mhz still unstable because he didnt get a better hsf for it.
