I have an ic7 max3 abit mb that i just got back from rma, works fine with 1 stick of memory but when I load 2 sticks in either 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 machine locks up in post? Any ideas?

Try 3 and 4. Maybe it dosent realize its a dual-channel setup. some mobos require it in 3 and 4 or 1 and 2 like my DFI.

Are the two sticks the same? Did they work in dual channel before the rma? Have you tried resetting the bios?

Clear your CMOS then manually set your timings and voltage with one stick. Once you've done that install the other stick and see if it boots.
