"Clean install"? I want to reformat my system (compaq), I have to use a master restore disc. I have done this many times, but this is my first time after my upgrade to win 98 se (I had win 95), I always read about doing a "clean install", what exactly is that? I know that when I "restore" with the disc, it will install Win95, do I just "upgrade" it again? Thanks.. oh yeah, don't drop the soap! :D

"Clean" would refer to letting it completely format your hard drive before installing. Some people just reinstall over the old OS and install their programs thereafter.

If all you have is a 98SE upgrade disk then I would say you have no choice in doing it that way. I wouldn't feel as bad as upgrading 95 to 98 as I would 98 to Win2K, though.
