Hello all!
I have my SATA drive up and running with windows etc.. and I have my SCSI Fujitsu drives installed witht he LSIU160 card etc.
When the computer starts up it shows it in the "detect hardware" sequence, and it also shows the drives in the hardware profile section as being there so I know I am up and running.
My question is how do I get windows to recognize the drives? I am looking to do a Raid 0 config (strictly for games.. sata drive will keep windows etc). The problem is that everything I read is about setting up the raid 0 to run windows... or at least that's what it looks like.
Can anyone give me the quick instructions or link on how to set these bad boys up? thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums! :Welcome:
Hate to be a jerk, but your sig is a little long...there's a sig length rules section here:

To get windows to recognize the drives, you'll need to install a driver for your controller card - the LSIU160. You should be able to find drivers on the manufacturer's site somewhere.
Setting up the actual array will either take place in a utility included with the drivers, or more likely before the operating system starts. When your controller card and drives show up after the boot screen, look for a hotkey to press that'll get you into the controller setup program - like a BIOS for your RAID card.
I would definitely recommend putting your OS on the RAID array once you get it set up. You'll notice much faster boot times and vastly improved overall system performance.

like johan said, you will have to setup the raid array through the controllers bios. when it is scanning for scsi devices it will tell which key to hit in order to enter this utility. once in the utility you will be given the options to setup the raid array. You will also have to make sure to install the proper drivers as well
You'll have to do a software RAID 0- the LSIU160 doesn't do RAID. What you do is you have the drivers for the LSI on a floppy, press F6 in the beginning of the Windows installation so that you could install the drivers to get Windows to see the controller. Then, set up a small partition (maybe 3 GB to be safe) on one drive, and two large equal partitions, one on each drive. This gives you one drive with the OS partition plus the regular partition, and the other drive with the same size regular partition and a little bit of free space.
Once you install Windows on the small space, you can set up the other two partitions in a software RAID (this takes up a few CPU cycles, but its just as fast- if not faster- than hardware). Go to Administrative tools under Control Panel, then to Computer Management. Go to the Disk Management option, and you should see your partitions in one of the panes.
First, you have to convert to dynamic disks. Right-click on the big partition, the part where its labeled "Disk 0 (or some number)" with the capacity and stuff. There should be an option to convert the partition to a dynamic disk. Do this for both big partitions.
From here I'm a little unsure how to do it (its been a while). I think you right-click on the long colored bar with the drive letter. There should be an option to create a new volume. Go through the wizard, make sure you choose a striped volume for RAID 0. Choose both large partitions as the dynamic disks that make up the volume, and it should be created.
Hope this jumble helps :) ask away if you need to.
