Phase 1: Planning.

In preparation for my soon addition of h20 to my case, i'm going to be doing some modding.

First step would be relocating the 5 1/4 bays. I will move the mfrom the front to the top of the case, so my drives wil lbe facing up. So i'll have to drill out rivets, mark cuts, and go through probably 15 dremel disks cutting out all of the different turns for the drive rails. I'll put the cage itself on spacers so the drives still sit flush on the top of the case. still considering using remnants fro mthe stock bezel and some fibreglass to make it look nice and fancy.

here you can see the cage, there are around 15 rivets holding it in. i'l lbe drillin those out, and relocating it to the top panel facing up, and ill fill i nthis blank space with probably sheet metal, a couple rivets and a bead of weld aroudn should do it pretty good. dunno about the weld yet tho, i dont want to warp the metal tho.

this is about where the drives will be placed, except just their front bezels level with the top panel, or if i use the old bezel they'll sit with that.

The cds represent where the 120mm fans will be on the radiator, fans will be sandwitching a BIX3, so 6 120mm fans up front total, and the room at the bottom for the bottom space of the rad with the barbs and all.

it took longer than i expected, got distracted by some chicken and a movie.

The front bezel will be replaced with a fibreglass and sheet metal thing i will build. it will house a black ice extreme 3 rad, sandwitched in 6 fans, probably panaflow 120mm 114 cfms. those will be blowing out (possibly in, i havnt decided yet) through the hard drives, all 5 of them.

thats how i plan on the front being, black lines being the fibreglass, blue te rad, green the fans. in the top part will be the power button and LEDs, will use a anti vandalism button, chrome finished one, and panel mount LEDs, liek at radioshack. will leave room o i can put in a little LCD if i ever get motivation to.

and after all of this is done, ill paint the thing. im thinking a yellow color that i can get locally, i really liek the color and having it in a mirror finish would be awesome. i might also replace the feet on this case with some castods, i havnt decided yet tho.

so what do you guys tihnk? sound lieka good plan? any suggestions?
