Is there a way to O/C a video card thru its own BIOS?

Not to my knowledge.

You MIGHT be able to mod the vid.card BIOS to boot it @ higher clocks than usual. I had some utility to edit GeForce BIOSes, but I didn't try anything with it, too dangerous for poor me. There was some options that gave clockrates, but they were lower than the stock clocks.

Only one I've heard of (successfully anyway) is with the Radeon (first edition 166/166) being BIOS flashed to SE (second edition 198/198) default. Causes some problems tho' as the slower memory can't always handle the higher default setting.

I wanted to be able to O/C without having to use shareware. Do NVmax or Powerstrip stop working after a while?

nvmax doesnt stop working but powerstrip does as it's shareware

it's possible to flash the video card bios with a higher core and memory speeds...i have done it to my geforce256 and it works..

you can do that by editing of configuration inside the video card bios i think...

hope that helps
