21.83's are junk

the 21.81's are the best and most stable

That is a system to system response, i upgrades from 21,81 and get LESS lockups then ever with more FPS in 3dmark2k1 with the 21.83 , just all depends on your hardware/software

Hmm, haven't tried the '81's. Couldn't even make it through the 4th test, with the '83's, usually dropped out to the desktop in the 3rd. Went back to the 12.41's :mad:

i agree, itz a piece of shi#, i get like 200 pointz down in 3D mark 2k1, i think this is not a driver for GF3 but itz good for any other series

i tend to agree with you [OC] Jason, i get less probs on my machine with 21.83 than the 21.81. But my parents machine is better with the 21.81.

my only complaint about them is that i cant run my customized colors with direct3d applications once i need this kind of correction. im working with W2k pro.

The performance of the 21.83 is the same as the 21.81, but they are a lot more stable. They have not given me any problems, while the 21.81's caused my screen to freeze with black lines over it in SiSoft Sandra and some other programs. Now there are no problems

how come when i try to use any driver over 12.41 it causes my system to freeze. It's on a Win98 system with specks below. All other drivers are current. I would really like to get some free preformance if possible. If anyone wants to help please let me know. Thanks

I agree about being junk for I just posted another thread with benchmark scores and out of 6 drivers i tested they scored the lowest.

I now went with the 22.50's and they are awesome. Framerates improved, 3DMark2K1 score improved, and picture quality improved. Need I say more! Oh, and so far they are stable.

i dunno, with 83 MaxPayne wont run any resolution higher than 1280x1024...whats up with that??? my monitor supports 1600 and it was doing fine before....im going back to 81

At this point I am fit to be tied...started off trying the 21.81's...got lock ups and crashes back to desktop...tried 21.83's...same thing...tried the 22.50's and still can't get 3DMk2001 to get thru the 4th section without crashing to the desktop...just d/l the new 22.80's and even they won't work on this thing...Lastly, went back to the 12.41's and now THEY won't work either...This whole XP drivers thing is about to just pizz-a me off-a...whathehey???

Any suggestions would be appreciated...shotgun???

If none of those drivers work, then I'd say you have a problem with your video card. Yes, there are defective nvidia cards out there!

Well, thanks for your help...something is definately fouled up good...As a final resort I removed the det drivers and ran the detdestroyer...went back to the original 0631 drivers that came with the card...it STILL won't run 3DMk2K1 past the start of part 4, but will play my flight sims, Giants, etc...whathehey???

At this point I am beginning to think the card is mucked up somehow, but I am not willing to give it up yet...Damn...:eek:

EDIT--Well, the card is officially wounded in action...reformatted and reloaded everything...still won't run 3DMk2K1 past 4th part, or run most intensive gaming apps...

Oh well, gonna get a GF2 GTS or Pro to replace it...My first OC attempt ends in tragedy...bummer. :(

I used 22.80 ,22.40 ,21.83 ,21.81 with a gf3 ti 200 and they all freeze on my at random and i know its the drivers cuz i didn't have any problems untill i installed them ... well looks like i am going to 21.50 i try those out and repost..
