umm.. how would i get samba to work? i think mandrake has it included i turn it on but what should i do?
Don't completely remember all the specifics so I found a website that looks to have a complete guide on how to set it up using Windows. Hope this (http://www.cs.ait.ac.th/laboratory/samba.shtml) helps some.
I haven't done it in quite a while, but at one point I had Samba running on Corel Linux in a WinNT/Win98 network. It was a pain to configure and get it running on startup, but once it was up, it was seamless: no problems at all.
That was a couple years ago, and I know there was a lot of work being done on gui frontends and auto-installers at the time so it may be a lot easier to get it running now.
I used www.samba.org for references and help (as well as the included docs.)
It ain't easy to set up, but if you want to use Linux/ ms products together it's great.
Good Luck!
i am going to replace it with Win98
i dont have time to configure it
