from the pic above..the capacitors and the thing with metal surrounded are both really really hot..I can only hold the capacitor for like 5 sec and it start getting too hot...and the thing on the left from pic..I couldn't even hold it for 2 sec..is this normal? Btw this is under load at 55C-56C on CPU I don't have any experience on the P4s so I don't know if this is normal or not..are they suppose to be hot?
The cap on the left appears to be leaking, is the one on the rigth buldging on the top? Hot or not they look like they are failing. Is failing caps a problem with that board? Anyone know?
Either way I'd say to either RMA it or repair it yourself if you have the skills.
No doubt the capacitors are toast. The one on the left is bulged to the point it has leaked, and the one on the right is just buldged. Something else is almost certainly wrong with the board that has cause the caps to fail, it is unlikely for two caps to fail on this new of a board. RMA time.

lol guys this is not my pic..not my mobo..I'm just using them as an example..the capaitor on my board runs very hot..and the thing on left with surrounded metal is like burning hot..is this normal?

the one with coild metal should be mildly hott...no so that u have to pull you finger off but nice and warm allowing u to keep finger on it.

IDLE. I dont think you should worry about it to much if its load. ic an check under full load. Give me a sec.

hehehe my system became very unstable so I had to reset my OC to lower so im gonna try and see under full load how hot.
Edit: once again, I wouldnt worry. It is a little bit hotter but not much. Maybe better cooling if none allready as far as fans are concerned?

If you think they're running too hot you could try having a fan blow over them :)
Short version... make sure you have good airflow over the PWM area and monitor your temps.
Long version...
The thing with the copper wire wrapped around it is a "choke." Chokes are fixed inductors primarily intended to "choke" off alternating currents, including radio frequencies (RF) from DC supply lines. AFAIK a choke shouldn't generate a lot of heat on its own. It could be picking up radiated and/or conducted heat from the caps or the mosfets.
I used an IR thermometer to check the temps of the components in the PWM area of my o/ced IC7-G/Prescott 3.2 (a "hot" combination if there ever was one!). The hottest capacitor was 38C, which is 100F. That would be warm/hot to the touch, but not uncomfortably so.
BTW, my room temp is 22C and case temp is 28C. If your ambients are hotter, your components will be hotter than mine.
