Mouse sometimes not being detected

this has happened a few times to me .. sometimes when i boot into windows .. my mouse will light up with my keyboard but once it gets into
windows it shuts off .. and i have to unplug the usb mouse and reconnect
it and then it works .. any idea what could be causing this ? it never happens to my usb keyboard .. just the mouse :eh?:

Do you have legacy USB support and USB2.0 support enabled in your bios?

My mother was having the same problem with a mouse and camera because "USB Legacy" was disabled in the bios.

I get that problem on a few of my rigs (especially with my kvm) but a quick ctl-alt-delete then cancel and the mouse works again

I had a similar issue, turns out the mouse was dead or my computer didn't like it. I bought a new mouse and problem was solved.

hmmm it has happened on a bunch of my rigs and with different mice ..

ill check that out in the bios though

just checked .. USB v1.1 and v2.0 enabled
