there are 256mb 6800 ultras for the same price as 256mb 7800GTXs, some ultras even cost more!!! and their not oc'd either. so whats up with this? i want to get a 7800GTX when I upgrade to 64-bit but now this has aroused suspiscion.
i think they just want to slam ati in the face for not being ready
and they dont want to lose more money by selling ultras cheaper

the price drops just haven't come into effect yet (for retail) ultras have been selling for ~$350 in classifieds. imagine you have an inventory of cards you're used to selling for $500 and now you have to lower the price to $400 or less, i doubt you'd jump on that.

Most of the 6800GT Ultras with 512MB are around $700 a piece.
Only like 1 or 2 6800GT Ultras with 256MB are on par with the 7800GTX.
But don't look are the prices like that, if your willing to spend about $500 on a video card, the 7800GTXs will benchmark and run better then the Ultras.

I'm afraid I've never felt the 7800GTX's are "too cheap". ;(
