if i have many small solder joints on a PCB and i cant get heatshrink or electrical tape on them, what can i put there to help secure them? can i use epoxy? silicone rubber sealant? im trying to not only assure that they never touch eachother, but minimize bending and potential breaking...

thanks....

I've heard of some people supergluing their solder joints afterwards.

Whenever I do small electrical solders that I want permenent, I supper glue it to the PCB which makes me less nervious while handaling product. For example. I just put a new switch/button for my CD-ROM drive. I superglued the joints so it would be harder, nearly impossible to rip off.

Hot glue works real good too. You can undo it later if you have to. Super Glue is pretty permanent. Hot Glue is permanent *enough*, but will come off if you need to without damaging the board. :)

if your worried about the solder joint breaking then its not a good joint.
to seal them i would use liquid electrical tape if your worried about touching something.
but the solder joint should be able to hold plenty strong.

after my solder joints cool i tug plenty hard on them to make sure they hold.

I personally us super glue over the joint and a little bit of the wires insulation. might not look the greatest bu holds it well. and you can buy removers of super glue to take it off if needed. or just plow through it with a soldering iron, and get that concentrated fume smell in your face.

Yeah, I use hotglue. Works well enough for me

I'd be afraid the card would fall and crack the PCB. Hot glue is fine.
