ok story is that i had a dead hsf on my 6800nu so i sent it to be RMAed. came back and the thing was working even worse having artifacts (basically looks like a bunch of static for lack of better words) all over the screen all the time and i cant read the bios or any dos screens but all of the windows screens are slightly visable but still plagued with static. so i sent it back. well they repair it, take pictures, so im like ok its gonna work. same problem is still going on. i dont think its my mobo cause when i plug in a geforce 2 mx it works 100%.

please please please please if someone knows whats going on please tell me this card was working fine on this exact same set up for 6 months prior im just clueless to what it could be

Ok, I am a little confused here. You had a card that worked for 6 months and the HS fan died. You RMA it and it came back working worse. Did you then RMA it again with it coming back the same? If that is the case then they may have sent you your card back because for some reason or anouther the warrenty was voided. If that is not the case then you may be faced with some other issues. The problems began only after the fan died right? Sounds like the card was fried in the process. If you other card works fine then there is a good chance that your mobo is just fine and your burnt out card is to blame. If you have anouther system or access to a friends, I suggest you put the card in it and test it. If it does the same thing then I am sorry to say that it is dead. If it works fine then you need to hire an exercist for your comp

you pretty much got it striaght except that when they tested it at their lab after "fixing" it it worked fine (they sent me an email with pics) and its screwing up on my comp. im just baffled. i plan on testing it on another comp with a similar setup to mine if it doesnt work then i dunno. im just confused

I will always take it off your hands :). All kidding aside, that is interesting that they tested it and it was fine. Hmmm have you tried deleting all drivers putting the newest ones on? It is not overclocked is it? Also make sure that you have not unlocked any pipes using rivatuner. That will cause the artifacts too

I don't think drivers matter at this point if he can't see the BIOS screen.
