it all started with my k8n neo plat. it was fine and then all of a sudden my sound and my usb took a ****. so then i decided " ok...time to break out my trusty k8v se deluxe". wrong I was! for some reason, i cant have more than my pump , my hd, my dvd-rw and 1 120 mm fan at once because it says that my GC is not reiciving adaquate power. this leads me to believe that it must be my psu that is pumping out irregular voltages from the rails. soooooooo, i disconnect every thing except the GF and hd. it starts up and i dont see the warning soo im thinking "SCORE!" but when i check my GC temps it's at 148c!
thats freaking nuts! imj stumped and am about to give on it, any help would be much appriciated. thanks guys.

Ouch that is way to hot! I would say to reseat the heatsink and then see if it is still that hot. Check the fans on it too. Unless it is watercooled.

i just tried it twice and it is still the same. yeah, the card is watercooled it has a maze 4 on it. i also noticed that my motherboard is reporting my 12v rail at 11.1. and sometimes if i turn on my box and the nvidia sentinel tells me there is not enuff power, all i have to is wiggle my pwer supply cables (after i shutdown) and it starts up fine. i can even play cs:c with no artifacts, but it's still at 148c.

...... throw in a different video card if you have one to test that one also.

you need a more powerful PSU. your pump is being starved for power, hense the shiesty temps. something is OFF bigtime.

my pump works ok. i took everything out of my case and reset everything and also checked each part individually. my cpu temps before were between 36/46. right now im waiting for all the air bubbles to get out so i can boot up.

BTW - anyone know if its possible to disable the nvidia sentinel?

Is the fan of your GPU spinning? Normally those temp sensors are quite accurate.

its watercooled, i checked the pump and also if its properly sitting and they were both ok.

Um, 148C is over 300 degrees fahrenheit. There's no possible way that could be the real temp, your card would melt instantly. Your temp diode or monitoring software is screwed up somehow.

could it be from mounting my maze 4? does anyone know how to disable the nvidia sentinel?

It def. could be the maze 4. If its not seated and is not touching the core....its not cooling it. Same thing happend after lapping an old heatsink. It wasent seated properly so the temps sky rocketed.

If sentential has the same problem, and your card cant really be that hot, then its most likely a software problem... try downloading a new driver. Remember, you have to tighten the springs on the maze 4 until they are compressed half-way.

I think something's wrong with the sensor.
Like wpmegee said that's like 300 degress F.
My gigabyte 66GT runs at like 63C @ load...with stock everything.
But my room is like 95 degrees F so that might be some of it.

And isn't like 145C or 148C the magic number that they max out to when they short or something..I can't remember.
