Hey guys
Been a while since i came to any forum but the clasifieds

in the process of building a new rig
i have most parts

last nite i put it together without the optical or floppy drives and no mouse yet

it posted i got to bios and it was all fine
BUT
when it checked the RAM it counted thru the whole 1.25 gb
it was slow
that was painful to watch
quick boot was enabled and it still went slow
am i missing something or do i need to have all parts hooked up for it to post correctly?

Onboard ATI Rage
Dual 3com Nics

2 x 2400+ MP's w/Thermaltake Volcano 11 Xaser Series HSF

Some board you can have it skip all the hardware tests and just detect them.
That's what quick boot is.

If "quick boot" or "quick power on detection" (or whatever it's called) are enabled, and your RAM still does that, I'm not sure what to tell you. Some other people with the same motherboard should know more...

I tink in the bios there is an option to stop the ram check ..Look where ya can set it to ecc I think there is an option in that section for it

diehrd
its is enabled
have tried all combos of enabled/disabled in that section
that was the first thing i looked at
thanks for the input
