with mny 6800gt - both riva and coolbits allowed me to hit the same speed - coolbits is nice as it is added to your display control panel.

Hay thanks for that, hope one of them gives me some good clocks! what about cooling is it ok to overclock the new cards with the stock cooler? i hear theres no new aftermarket coolers for them yet.

Got the card today installed it and used the nVIDIA Driver v77.77 [Win 2K/XP] drivers and got 6300 in 3dmark 05??????? I used powerstrip to check the clocks and there defult at 440/1250 (gainwerd standard) do i have to format my pc or get a driver cleaner cuz this score is wrong?

Stock cooling can do - the bets way to test is touch the HS - see hot warmn it is, after market is always better and you usally get beter clocks, but often stock will do for a good 20-40mhz O/C

I know about after market coolin, just wanted to konw why the score was so low, i clocked the card up to 500/1335 on the stock and the score went up to 7100. This is still way to low for this card something is wrong here! well im goin to test it by formatin my 30gb hard drive to see what score ill get then n if its any better ill format my main drive.

Ok did a Fresh install, and used the drivers that came with the card and all i get is 6900 in 3dmark05, what have i got some mest up card or somthing? ist the standered score in 3dm05 7800 so why is my score 900 points off?

:bang head Grr can no one help? Iv noticed on 3dmark05 that the lowest score is 8007 and my score is 6900, oh well the card is goin back to ebuyer and im goin to try a diffrent brand or i might pay £30 extra for the high clocked gainward golden sampler. If its still the same then ill just stick with my x850xt untill the new 32 pip cards come out.

Just got a email from ebuyer and the card was fulty they didnt say what exacly but im gettin a refund to get something els. i dont think i want another gainward card again, some one gave a review of the golden sampler of te 7800gtx (490/1300) n they said the clocks wasnt stable so i t might be a xfx. but hearin all the news on new cards being delayed and dropped then new cards will be out next year im thinkin i should have the money.

Check out the Nvidia OC'ing sticky (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=398013) , everything that you need to know about OC'ing your vid card and all the tools that you may need are all in there.

Just get an eVGA... BFG horribly overprices their cards... eVGA is probably the best out there.

Cant find eVGA in the uk and i dont realy wanna spend £411 on a card im goin to replace in 6 months, dont get me wrong £350 - £380 is a lot to spend on a card but £400 kinda is mad. whats buggin me is gainward do a 470/1,300 card but it might come up as another dud so its that or a xfx card at 450/1,25 which might not clock any higher.

if your going to replace it why not buy a 7800GT?
