need help

i remember reding somewere that a origional geforce with a high speed thunderbird was better in software t and l then hardware, has anyone got a original geforce or geforce 2 mx and a high speed cpu to test this out (they did it with 3dmark 2000)

My MX200 is faster running Hardware T&L than Software.

But my CPU can't be considered a fast one.

i think it was a article with AMD guys and Nvidia guys and some game makers

You need a 1.8ghz or higher P4 in order to run in software t&l and surpass the video card's ability... but as games become more complicated, the more mhz you'll need from the cpu in order to run the app as more tasks are being shifted to the video card.
