Your little arrow confused me, 7800GT -> 7800GTX, that little dash was confusing..anyways

Is it possible for the 6800GT to run better then the 6800GT Ultra, I highly doubt it. If they made the 7800GT to run better then the 7800GTX, noone would buy 7800GTXs. Andandtech already has a review on the 7800GTs, and it looks as if it'll be a decent deal for people who can't afford 7800GTXs, even though shelling out $400 is a big deal.

I think he just wants to know if you can mod a 7800gt into a 7800gtx with bios flash.

exaclty and yes my 6800GT peroforms like a 6800 Ultra - all options are there and my speed are 429 / 1200 :)

Nooo, when I said is it possible for the 6800GT to run better then the Ultra, I meant at stock speeds, lol. Sorry for the confusingness. It's obvious anyone here can OC their 6800GT to Ultra speeds.

Well if a 6800GT can outperform a 6800Ultra after OC can't the 7800GT out perform a 7800 GTX after oc?

lol......no cause obviously if you had the ultra you would overclock that too.....

seems kinda stupid to compare a gt overclocked vs. a gtx stock when ur thinking of purchasing cause ur gonna end up overclocking whichever u get so the gtx will always be better here....

had to clarify here....

I think he means is it possible to unlock a 20 pipe GT to a 24 pipe GTX.... Basically can you unlock the four pipes, or are they even there?

no - because in the 7800GT vs GTX - they disabled pipelines which can NOT be enabled i beleive.

they did not do this in the 6800 GT / Ultra line.

and an overclocked GTX wont always be better - "if" all pipes were there ebcaused the GTX may just overclock crappy - as do most of the highest end cards (ultra's etc)

it is the next one down that ends up being the overclocking kings.

yep mr guverment kinda said it. I was asking about a pipeline unlock but seems it wont be had.
