I'm having a problem with a I/O conflict in my aunt's computer. It's older AMD system with a VIA chipset; The video card (AGP) and the VIA AGP controller seem to have a conflicting I/O address. I've formatted and reinstalled Wndows, and installed the video, and chipset drivers with just the video card in like the manual said but that didn't work; I've also tried a different card but that had the same result. Any Idea's?

Specs:

AMD K6-2 500Mhz
Aopen AX59-Pro (VIA MVP3 AGPSet)
192mb of Ram (128mb PC133, 64mb PC100)
Radeon 7000 AGP and some SIS card (not sure of model)
12Gb HDD
Windows 2000

Do you have ACPI enabled?
updated the motherboard bios to the latest?

after a fresh install, do you still have the I/O address conflict prior to installing drivers?

ACPI is enabled, and the I/O conflict was there before driver install. I'm going to check aopen's site and see if there's any BIOS update.
