Yeeaaah baby! I got my first credit card with 1,000 dollar limit, so I ordered an xfx 7800 gtx clocked at 460/1.25 mem that comes with a nice xgear gaming pad as well. I will report back when I get my system up and running- Im ordering the seasonic 600 from xoxide next. Christmas in August baby :santa:

Well, congrats on the new hardware, just don't get yourself in trouble with that plastic! Take it from me and countless others it's no fun to get yourself into debt with those things. :(

My bad, I didn't fully explain my upgrade critical path:

athlon x2 3800+ coming soon
razer exactmat w/ wristpad coming soon
Seasonic s12 600w already ordered
DFI nforce4 SLI version already ordered
xfx 7800gtx already orderd

Using my existing mushkin pc3500 level one which is currently running 235fsb w/ 2-2-3-11. Should overclock nicely with the new x2.

Why should i Get a raptor? Wouldn't another 250gb western digital sata make for a nicer RAID setup? Can you run raid with different sized drives like a 250gb and a 300gb?? Thanks Guys!!

Congrats, that will be a a sweet pc. Just remember, hobbies + plastic payment = years of tormenting debt and worse:
BAD CREDIT!
Not only that, but now that you've been approved you'll start getting tempting offers from everybody in the mail... you have to be smart and careful about it. The credit bureau's recommend only spending 10% of your limit per month, and of course always making a minimum payment. So don't max it out right away or you credit will go kerplunk.

Any advice on the hard drive setup/raid? Is a single 10k raptor faster than a dual 250 gig western digital sata raid-0 setup?

Is is a bad idea to use 2 different hard drives for raid?

lol you guys are giving this guy credit advice and hes asking about hard drivers

I'd get matching drivers for RAID, but JBOD works fine (i havn't tried it yet) , although i hear it makes things a little slower.

HAHA, don't worry about me guys, I am going to pay this off first thing next month once I get my bill. I just had to have it NOW!! I get obsessive and all I can think about is one thing. After going to geforce lan 2.0 and seeing the card hands on, i just had to have one. This card is amazing, I don't care what ati brings out this xmas, I'll still be a happy camper. I plan on starting to build some credit now that I'm out of college, and this is a good way to do it. I do have a full time career, so it's not that big a deal. It is kind of ridiculous that the new consoles will be less than one component of our pc gamer rigs though. *rant*

To answer your HDD question. I dont think the Raptors are worth the money they are asking. If you want a fast HDD these 16mb cache HDDs are very nice. 300GB 16mb cache for like 120 bucks or a 74gb raptor for what like 170? In my opinion the 16mb cache hdd's are faster.

Ok, that first one sounded a bit bad, but the second one clears it up. I'm glad it was worth it!
