How old are you looking for?

Doom will always be one of my favorite co-op or kill each other multiplayer games. You can probably get 2 copies of it for under $15 as well and just run it with JDoom (http://www.doomsdayhq.com/).

I'm with you on that one.
But yeah, my favs are:
Warcraft2, Doom2 (although this can quickly sink into 1v1 DM:D), Diablo2, Diablo, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale 2,Rouge Spear.

I am looking for a older game that is down to 10 to 15 dollars. Reall I am not looking for a game that is kill eachother but to fight the mission togeather, Somwhat like Lord of the rings stile. I have doom 3 Let's not talk about cracking, shall we ;) -- Oni but for some stupid reason it is haveing trouble with my Open GL. I am going to look more into that and see if I can turn it off.

BTW I like Diablo II, or I used to like it for the coop. Or you can get Halflife(which should be only $20) and download sevncoop(sp?). Its a mod that makes the single player co op.

You want to turn off openGL in doom3? Dare I ask how the game is supposed to run, it doesn't use DX or even have DX as a backup option :)

not old, but a real co-op gem has just surfaced somewhat recently: lego star wars :D

very,very fun game to play with a friend on one computer (I played through most of it in one sitting with my visiting little brother - I used the keyboard and he used a usb controller, but you can both use one keyboard if you wish)...

very cool game, totally recommended if you have someone to play with :D

Awesome Co-op. :p

Many of the games listed here are multiplayer over lan, not co-op like Halo is co-op. If you like RPG's, Neverwinter nights was good, Diablo 2 is a lot older but also good. C&C Generals is good, or a little older, Red Alert 2. You could also play Half Life 2 co-op using Garry's mod, it runs pretty well on fairly old hardware.

sorry about that.. I guess I need to read the rules again... I seen a kid at the store playing lego star wars on PS2 it looked really cool. I can't play HL2 Steam and valve don't like me bcause of my dile up. They don't have high speed where I am at. And if I need to update even once a week in order for my game to play then it is not worth it. I bought the game and had to traid it in for a new one and after that I just gave it away.

Well I don't know what to say about the open GL thing it says it does not like it. Time to look for an update!!

OH yah have you heard anything about Quake 4?

One of my favorite co-op experiences was when playing. . . . .I THINK Age of Empires 2. In the settings for a new custom game, if you had two players against whatever number of computers, you could set both players to be the same civilization and same player number, and when the game started, you would BOTH be playing one nation as if you were one player.

It was pretty cool. Rather than being two seperate nations working together, we were two players as ONE nation. One of us would concentrate on offense and defense, while the other worked on building and resource management. It was pretty fun.

Another one was Red Alert 2. Turning the computer up to Brutal difficulty and then working through the campaigns in multiplayer co-op.

yep. me and my buddies used to mess around playing serious sam, while waiting for the 1 or 2 people that would always have problems getting a game working or whatever, and we would end up just playing serious sam all night lol. it's basically mindless slaughtering, go from point A to point B and kill everything on the way. it sounds like you would get bored pretty quick but it's that simple goal that makes it fun.... and the cannon you get towards the end of serious sam SE :p

Ghost Recon, Sum of all fears, Vietcong and any of the battlefield series games were always popular with our little group too. ghost recon and sum of all fears should definatly be $20 or less by now (i think you can get ghost recon with all the expansions for $19.99) and you can download some pretty sweet map packs to expand the game even more. vietcong i'm not sure on the price but it should be around $20 also.

Swat 4 has pretty awsome co-op. the old unreal tournament had co-op mods. i dont know about the new ones. there was this one insane mod for UT where it was you and some friends against hundreds or thousands of monsters depending on the map. ANyone know the name of the mod?

pretty new but, splinter cell chaos theory claims it has co-op ( I havnt tried this out as I only got the game 2 days ago)

i played the beta and the 2v2 in splinter cell is awsome, so i'd imagine the co op must be amazing.

Chaos Theory's co-op is rather buggy, and its different missions from the singe player. It is co-op though.

Halo PC does not support multi player co-op in campaign mode, you need to start your own multiplayer lan game and then you can multi player CTF, Slayer, Oddball, Race, etc.

For more map selections get the Halo Custom Edition free download, then you can play Halo PC on over 300 custom maps.

Game is old as hell

Aint no damn FPS co-op games worth squat for pc. Infact there aint none at all unless you look at Tom Clancy games. However Doom3, Halo1,2 on Xbox all allow Co-Op. ARGGGGGGGGG

I wish zelda had coop but it doesnt. No third person coop for PC that is modern. GTA3 allows it for Ps2 and damn the consoles again I say !!!! Dont think Max Payne has coop for pc either.

If the Hl2 coop is flawless then that will be a suprise. damn third party making it so but, damn company themselves dont. ARGGG

All FPS pc games would be much more appealing if they all offered Coop on single player maps. ARGGG

I was not asking if Zelda had one but a game that is like Zelda. An RPG not a FPS. I have played so many of those they are getting old.

I am all ready getting tired of Doom3. What I am looking for is a game where I can upgrad my weapons and buy stuff and talk to the people in the games and get cluse...

Best thing Id sudjest without a doubt is Dungeon Siege 2. Nothing beats that for modern rpg coop gameplay. Its got the character creation of Diablo2, the 3d style look of Neverwinternights and the RPG feel of Balders Gate. Its my top choice for an RPG thats out now. Id take it over WoW, Guild Wars, Sacred and the rest.

DS2 is a huge improvement over the first. Its not exactly a sequal that offers a drematic diffrence. Its more of an answer to what DS1 should have been.

i'm pretty excited about DS2 myself, esp. since it's co-op (didn't know about that).

along the lines of an RPG... there aren't many of note in the RPG world allowing co-op (in my book). I agree that something like zelda 64 in co-op would be awesome. if you like diablo2, you might try sacred with a buddy (we tried this out when it was brand new at a lan party i held - it was really fun with multiple people (you can do up to 8 at once i think), but lost it's zing in single player (for me)... very much like diablo 2 really.

there are some great free online MMORPG's and the like out there, however. I'd check out Gunbound and FLYFF (fly for fun), especially if you've got a buddy to log on along with you.

i'd second trying out dungeon siege 2...
