changing game captions

I know this is a long shot but I'll ask any how. ok say I had the french version of alone in the dark 4 and I wanted the captions in english and or the actual dialog could I just switch the folders with the english version?And what folder would they be in (well dialog is obvious)??:confused:

Oh ya one more question cd 1 is the only one that does any installing if i were to just switch cd 1 french with cd 1 english would this work??
