So I was at PDXLan and I was a little bored because I couldnt get steam to work in offline mode so I decided to OC my video card

with only the auto detect optimal frequencies button in the nividia drivers I went from 590/290 to 760/375

This is pretty much an average O/C for the 6800 GO. They are awesome overclockers. I run mine at 357/785 daily. It can go higher, but I always downclock by a little bit just to leave a margin of error in place in case the temps get higher than they normally do.

These cards can run hot with no problems as well. The core slowdown threshold with the standard nvidia drivers is around 95C. Mine usually is around 45 idle, and 55 under load. I get 4300 in 3dmark05, and there was another guy on the laptop forums who got a bit over 5000 from the same card, but with the older core (NV41).

The 6800 Go does come with a ****ty TIM, it's a pad-type junction. You and I could probably get a little higher core clocks by just removing that and applying a good interface like AS5 or the like.
