HL2 Aftermath/Lost Coast

Can someone please explain the difference between these two. I know Aftermath is an expansion, what is Lost Coast? I know that it is supposed to incorporate the new lighting system developed by valve..

Lost Coast, as far as I know, is an extra chapter that was supposed to be in the original game but never made it. They're adding it into the game as an addon and using it to showcase the new HDR lighting system.

Mmm. I might have to get that since Ill be getting my x800 xt-pe. Ill get to look at pretty things again. The fx5200 isnt quite cutting it. Compared to the 9800 pro i had it sucks. Butttt Ill be happy tomorrow :).
