external display temp probe ideas??? links?

ok, i know can get thermistors w/digital display at radioshack..

but how do i install it effectively?
i have heard/seen ppl stick along base side of hsk.
is that any good?

mobo is a GA-7DXR and temp monitor is BAD!!
apparently no sign of a thermistor under CPU.
i dunno where BIOS reads temps!?!?! :confused:

this is to be part of a mod, so i guess... post here
since i'm sure some of you guys have done this.

anyone got links on this, any sort??

I use a compunurse, it comes with a flat thermistor that you can put under the heatsink so that it contacts the EDGE of the CPU core. Mine is set up with a switch so it can display multiple probes. Theres a article at http://www.ocmod.com that explains how to do this, really simple mod actually.
