My machine is Windows 2000 Pro, SP4. I've also booted into XP Pro, SP2.
The remote machine is Windows XP Pro, SP2.
There are actually two remote machines, both with XP Pro SP2. The first machine worked fine, and I'm connected to it right now.
The second machine lets me log in, shows the desktop, and then data stops coming from the machine. The remote user says that the machine hasn't locked up, and that I'm logged in. They can enter their session and check the internet connection, which is still working. However my RDC has locked up. I don't get the blinking "no connection" icon, either. RDC has to be ended by Task Manager at that point.
If left alone the remote computer goes to "sleep".
Both machines are on the same craptastic internet connection - 24.6kbps. It's horrible and laggy, but it beats driving 104 miles round-trip.
I've Googled, found nothing, and Microsoft's site is worthless. So, as a last resort, I'm throwing the problem here.
