I've been messing with airflow a few weeks now, trying to get Athlons in mini-towers to run with low temps-cpu/case. I found a few things that worked until the 3rd one: really cheap case and shoved into a corner so ventilation is poor. Temps in this pc were 40 case, 50 cpu until I put 6 fans and a side duct in! Sounded like an airport!

So I decided to run a force-fed duct from the case front, use 1 case intake and 1 exhaust (plus psu). I am now getting case 38c and cpu 43c.

Here is a crude diagram of this setup- anyone have comments/suggestions?

nice temps, i am fitting a watercooling setup in my midi tower, are you using standard fans, upgrade to delta screamers or improve the size (92 or 120)

Most of the fans I'm using are cheapo 80s, but the main thing I want is quiet! None of the fans are rated for more than 30db, except the cpu fans- and I'm working on that.

I do have a 120 intake in one rig- extra volume to help with the 400mhz overclock!

Maybe my problem is that I have a small case - it looks about the size of the one in the diagram, and I couldn't get my temp below about 58 c under load. I may have to do what you did, with the force feeding. My sunon 50cfm sounds like a frikkin airplane! It is driving me nuts...
