I've been checking out prices on pricewatch. There appears to be a rather big price difference between the generic "high density" 128x4 ($62-70) and "industry standard" 64x8 ($96+) 1GB DIMMs. Does anybody have any experience with the cheaper memory?
I'm looking to upgrade a machine that I use as a server. The machine has a Syntax S740MP (SIS 740 chipset) motherboard which as a non-upgrade-able Duron 1.3Ghz processor. The memory doesn't need to be overclockable (the motherboard doesn't support overclocking at all), but does need to be stable as I use the server as a gateway for my broadband Internet access (including VoIP).
Thanks!
