View Full Version : Here what i did with my Athlon 1200...
this is just with the multiplier and the FSB changed. I have to do a voltage mod to make my V-core higher. Let me know what you think. Also how much more speed do you guys think ill get with a higher V-core?
Nice!
How long have you been running that chip?
You may be able to get some more out of it in time: I've got a 1000 up to 1400 by slowly stepping it up over time: small increments, then let it run 100% load a few days (seti@home), then up a bit more. I haven't had to up the voltages..........yet! And so far its 100% stable. Unlike my 900@1071(last STABLE was 1050!) which is @1.8v.
VERY cool though- your bus speed is higher than mine by a good bit so your scores also are higher- SWEET!
Personally, I'd lower the multiplier and up the front side bus. Make it as wide as possible w/o losing stability.
thank you roger! Ive been running the chip for about 3 months but overclocked its only been running for a week. this is the absoult maxium i can get the FSB too and the multiplier, i if i go higher Winxp gives me an error at startup. however in Win2k i got it to 1540 (11x140), rock stable. IF i go any higher on both of them Win xp gives me a page fault error, sigh....

That is as high as I can get the FSB otherwise Winxp gives me an page falut error
Right on nice OC.
I had my 1.2@1.45@46°C loaded (145x10@ default voltage via the L bridges but my mobo feeds it an extra .1v so its actually @ 1.85v) but since my psu is crap I went ahead and turned back down to default until I order a new one.
What are your temps at that speed?
Why does your T-Bird show up as a Duron in your first image! That kinda weird! Nice o/c!:)

I just got the Shuttle ak31 like tuesday and i actually posted a thread about that in here. And when i e-maild shuttle he told me to up my FSB to 133 which i did but it still seen the athlon as a duron then he told me to reset the cmos, which didn't work. so i gave up

well i have a thermal take 2 and my temp is 48 idle and 50 under load, but its always been like that and i haven't really done anything to mess with the temps.
im gonna try flashing my bios to see if that helps....

You may get better out of it letting it run a few days at 100% load (Seti@Home and Folding@Home are both good for this;) ) and then trying again.
I'd suggest getting the temps down a bit: what do you have for case fans? This could be an easy area to improve stability/ clockability.
the cpu has always benn running that hot. im just to poor to buy a glacior. and i just flashed the bios and not im running at 1438!
im gonna run it like this for a while and then try more. Also winxp stoped give me those errors since i updated the bios.
oh as for case fans i have 1 120 blowing on the cpu, 1 80mm blowing in at the front. 1 80mm exhast at the rear and 1 80mm at the top for exhast
I had one pc with a similar fan setup and similar temps- which aren't good enough for me! In lieu of ordering a glaciator or something, I ran a duct from the front of the case into the cpu fan.
like in this pic. My cpu temp went from 49/50c to 41/42c.
That was my solution.
