I want to get a new motherboard and I've decided that I'm definitely going with ASUS. I have a P4 2.4 GHz 800 FSB processor right now, but I'll eventually be upgrading that as well. I took a look at several boards with the i865PE chipset and I'm not sure what the differences are. Does anyone here know?

P4P800-E Deluxe
P4P800 SE
P4P800-X
P4P800 Deluxe
P4P800

If your going to go S478, get a P4C800 (875 chipset). It's the best S478 board Asus makes, excellent overclocker, jsut a great board.

I'm thinking about Dothan and wouldn't mind knowing the differences either.

Yeah but that board is ~$177 as opposed to ~$89 for the P4P800SE. What's so much better to justify the $88 extra?

The 875 as apposed to 865 chipset, more robust power circuitry, both of which are a plus for OCing, just a better all around board. There are many other things. If you want the best go with the P4C800. You get what you pay for.........

after having the P4P800SE and then switching to the DFI board I have now (comparitive to the P4C800E-Dlx) i can tell you one thing....spend the extra cash, it is well worth it!

See he knows what I'm talking about..The DFI 875PT(I think that's the one he's talking about) is another excellent 875 board.
