Hi everyone:

Does anyone know where i can get information about steppings for a certain CPU (mine is 1.4GHz, AMD Athlon)...

Thanx for your help...

www.amd.com (http://www.amd.com)'s support section will give you all the technical info you want to know....

But I guess the guys in the AMD CPU thread would know better....:)

Welcome to overclockers! Nice to see a Kiwi here.........

Could that be considered a slam?

Yeah, I have a related family, over there, and a few friends, too...essentially Kiwis are my sworn enemies(I'm South African, do the rugby math) but I let it slide ;)

Here's a good diagram that was posted awhile ago:

Thanx guys .... but i still don't know how to get the right document for my stepping (there are heaps)!!

I have posted this thread becoz today my computer beeped for over-heat CPU temp (command from bios) and i was running at default clock (no overclocking); VIA HWM gave me a CPU temp of 62c which freaked me out!!!! I have no extra cooling device but the store CPU fan.

This is why i am looking for the stepping for my computer so that i would manually adjust the Vcore from Bios (hopefully this would work)

I hope you guys would help me out:) Thanx alot

STOCK HSF! AAAAAGGGGHHHHH!

Athlons run hot. Before messing with the voltage, I would strongly urge you to get a decent HSF combo. It could drop your temps by about 10C. Good case cooling is a must too.

Hi "reddeathdrinker":

Would you (or anyone) plz suggest me what cooling fans or others should i buy if i would like to overclock over 300MHz from default (1.4GHz).

Thanx for help!!!
