New func pads?

I was thinking of finaly getting a func 1030, but then I noticed this:

So.. whats new with it? Hows it rate? And what about the cheaper XTrac pads, like this one:

The price is right.

So in short, they come in 2 models which each have one of the surfaces on the 1030 (rough and smooth), and are slightly larger and thinner? I don't need a large pad, my current pad is 9" x 7-3/4" and I never go over the edges. Also, they are more expensive. What would you recomend?
