I've been making an attempt to overclock my VisionTek GF3 Ti200 at least up to normal GF3 standards (anyone know what they are?) I installed that coolbits reg hack and Powerstrip302. Initially, my settings for gpu/mem were 175/400

I started out by clocking my ram and this is what I got
clock/3dmark2k1
400/4532
408/4467
415/4218
422/4106

Then I noticed my FSB was still at 100, so I bumped it up to 133. At 422 MHz 2k1 said it coulcn't instantiate the card, so I put it to 415 and got a score of 4853.

Haven't messed with the GPU speed yet though. Anyone know why its slowing down? Memory leaks in 3dM2k1?

Anyway, the rest of my systems is as follows:
ECS Mboard k7vza
950 T-Bird socket A
512 Mb PC133 ram

The rest of the stuff I wouldn't think have an effect on the performance.

did you reboot and free all your resources after running 3dmk? sometimes that can cause lower scores in itself...

Didn't reboot after running the benchmark each time, unless there are memory leaks I wouldn't think it should matter.

I think he meant reboot after each change in memory speed. Why it would lower your speed I don't know but I think if you don't reboot then it doesn't change the speed and therefore your scores wouldn't go up.

Oh ok I gotcha. I think it does change the speed though cause if I change it and hit replay my screen flashes off for about half a second then comes back on the first time I do it. After that, if I change it, hit apply, and then tell it to detect settings, it shows the most current settings.

Though I have found that if I reboot between tests I get better scores.

Starting with a 175/400 setting I got low 4000's I think. Now I'm at 185/437 and get 5035. Might stop there for now. My room is getting hotter by the minute near my desk hehe.

You know I have 2 computers in my room and they really do raise the temperature. heh
