Abit AN8-Ultra on sale at newegg and ends today for $114
AMD 3200+ Venice for $190
I am stuck on video card. At first I was going to go with a 6800GT for $295 and then thought well there is the 7800GT for less than a $100 more.

P.S. - Will be using existing ram. 1GB 3200 Geil Ultra Platinum 2-6-3-3 1T.

The XFX one is $389 and the eVGA one is $409, but comes with BF2. I saw on the eVGA site that the minimum PSU requirement is 450W and I have a Antec 430W Truepower PSU with a 26A 12V rail. I guess that might not cut it? So now I'm thinking geesh I have to get a PSU.

Questions are:
Should I go for the 7800GT still? If so which one of the two? It seems eVGA has a lifetime warranty and XFX has the double lifetime warranty. XFX if you sell the person gets a lifetime warranty as well. eVGA I don't know how that works...it is retarded that the warranty isn't good no matter who owns the card, but thats companies these days.

Which PSU is a great one and in the $50-75 range if I do in fact need one?

I didn't want to spend more than $700, but now if I need a PSU it looks like I have to.

How is this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817193004
I have heard good and bad...it seems good. 18V on 12V1 and 16V on 12V2.

Please help quick.

Thanks,
Jared

I'd do the eVGA, most people usually get good results with the eVGA ones. But are you sure you'll need a 7800GT? It might bottleneck a little under your 3200+. But if you definitely game, then go for the 7800GT, if you don't game, stick with the 6800GT.

For any 7800 series video card, you need a PSU of at least:

I'd highly recommend not skimming on the PSU, it can affect nearly every part of your computer.

If you get the 6800GT, your current PSU should be fine if you don't OC it. But if you go 7800GT, I'd recommend getting the Forton.

Also, I highly recommend a different motherboard, mainly because for that price you can get a much better one:

Epox's are great choices, much better then the current Abit one you picked.

TY for quick response. The motherboard situation I could throw up in the air and kick lol. Everyone has their own opinions on motherboards and since I have an Abit now and love it, I just thought I would go with it. If it sucks I will RMA and exchange and never go with Abit again until I feel comfortable. I am looking for a nice OC, but no world records here lol. That PSU is a lot...ouch. I game a lot. I can't say the most intense games ever. I play World of Warcraft, BF2 demo(would like free full version with evga card), Half Life 2, CS:Source, etc. So I am thinking if I were to ever buy the BF2 full version right there is $50, so that is pretty close to matching the price of the 6800GT. I wouldn't play the other games video card vendors offer, so I am saying the evga for me would probably be a winner and set me up for the future games(I hope :) ).
