directX 8.1 ???

HI!
Biiiig problem ..
some tome ago .. i installed a veta release of directx .. 8.1 .. now my comp keeps telling me is a beta and that i need an upgrade ..
but the newest one around is 8.0a .. and it refuses to use the older version .. and no uninstall is possible ... does someone know a solution for this problem ... plz hlp me..

Which build did you install? The beta versions have a time-limit which you've obviously reached.
