Hi everybody...

Just want to know if there's anything physically wrong with this setup:

[Raidmax Scorpio 868 Blue]

[Asus Nvidia Nforce 4 Ultra (A8N-E)]
http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?...455&modelmenu=1

[AMD Athlon64, 3500+, Venice]

[NEC ND 3540 Dual-Layer - DVD-Burner]

[Leadtek PX7800GTX TDH MyVIVO]
http://www.leadtek.com/3d_graphic/w..._tdhvivo_1.html

[Maxtor DM10 120GB, 7200RPM, 8MB Cache, SATA]

[Kingston PC3200 DDR400, 2x512 MB]

[Logitech UltraX Keyboard, DK]

[Antec SmartPower 2.0 500W PSU]
http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=26450

[4x 80mm fans for the case]

And, have you got any suggestions for better parts, that doesn't cost extra... for example case modding.

Is that Kingston Value ram? If so, Corsair Value ram is usually a tad better, maybe OCZ if you want.

The best way to improve that is to upgrade to a 3700+. You should either move up to a 3700+ or drop down to the 3200+. If the 3700+ is too expensive, you might considering getting the 7800GT instead.

Also, try getting a different PSU, for a 7800GTX you'll need a decent one. For your budget, the Forton AX500-A should be enough, but if you have enough money, the OCZ PowerStream 520W is a great choice too.

The case IMO is really ugly. If you like it that is fine, but I would take into consideration some cases from Antec, Cooler Master, Silverstone or Lian-Li.

As for the motherboard I would suggest the Epox 9NPA+Ultra. it is a great board that overclocks well for a good price.

I see no reason at all to get a 3500. All venices overclock the same so I would suggest either getting a 3000+ or bump up to a 3700+ San Diego. The 3200+ is another option, but the only advantage it has is the 10x multiplier. With a good board though, it is unlikely for you to be limited by the HTT.

The DVD burner is a great choice!

I would bump down to a 7800GT. The 7800GTX is not worth the extra $100. I would suggest the eVGA bundle that comes with BF2. Also what resolution do you plan gaming at? if it is not at least 1600x1200 I would just bump down to a 6800GT as you won't take advantage of the 7800.

For the HDD I would suggerst getting a Seagate. They are much more reliable then Maxtor.

As for the RAM, I would suggest some cheap crucial sticks. They overclock well for a reasonable price. It may actually be a good choice to buy a 1GB stick and then you can add another 1GB stick later rather then running 4x512MB.

For the PSU get a Fortron AX500-A. It is much better then that Antec and cvan be found for cheap at actbuy and ewiz.

I'd get an Antec case with 120mm fans instead. Amazon had one for about 50.00 shipped.

I'd go for a different motherboard, either an EPoX or a DFI. The EPoX overlocks well, just not quite as well as the DFI.

I'd get a 3000+ from ewiz for 120.00 or so. It should overclock nearly as well.

I'd get a T7K250 instead.

An okay power supply, but a Fortron ax500 would be a better choice. Ewiz has them for about 70.00
