Hey all, I've been crunching SETI for our team for awhile now and I've noticed that this FOLDING@HOME thing is really starting to take off so I've decided that as soon as the 2.0 client comes out, I'll going to start crunching for both teams :)

How's about a warm welcome?!

Fresh Meat!!! :) Seriously..welcome to the team..you actually get bonus points because most of us are folding hogs and we haven't devoted any boxes to Seti yet.

I'm starting to feel a little guilty...just another excuse to buy more 'puter stuff!!! Welcome again! Fold on!

You have to go to the User Control Panel (where you edit all your persona stuff and unsubscribe to threads, etc.

Anyway, now there is a link there for going to the signature editor. Go there and re-create your sig. Then choose "Save" in the signature editor. That will return you to the profile editor.

DO NOT update / save your profile as it will overwrite your sig back to empty. Instead, just exit and go back to the boards somewhere.

That should work (it did for me). I am sure they'll have the problem worked out soon, but in the mean time, that'll get you by.

Later,
DB

Welcome aboard Neptune ...someday I may donate some time to SETI...but not until we have finished folding the universe in on itself and cured a few forms of cancer and ESPECIALLY Alzhiemers.

Subject: F@H... 2.0 PRE-RELEASE

Hi,

Just a heads up for everyone who's helped out. We're having our
formal release tomorrow, but the non-beta versions are currently on
the web site

http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html

These versions are the "final" launch code. Of course, that's not to
say that we won't be making fixes as necessary ...

Thanks,

Vijay

Sweet... I just downloaded it and signed up for team #32.

A couple questions:

How long does the average WU take?

I don't see a CLC in this version... but there is a Red Folding Icon in my system tray, so I'm assuming its running. Can someone please confirm this.

It looks like it's taking.. Let me see.
This is on AMD 1@1.4 while I was doing some work.
Started @ 3:17PM
Currently 4:56PM
I have done 8 out of 10 frames. It looks like maybe 2 hours or a little for AMD@1.4. If this has similar optimization to the previous client then AMD will perform better MHz to MHz than Intel. These times will change based on which protein is being folded too I would suspect.
If you left click Once on the tray icon it should show the client running with a display of the protein you are folding. There should also be a pie chart on the left side and above that it should say how many frames out of ten you have done. Also if you click on your username it should take you to a stats page, although that feature was a little flaky the last time I tried it. Still is I see. What else? Oh yeah. I had a problem with the full screen mode, but they made a note in the read me file that blamed the problem on voodoo cards which I have, so maybe that's the problem. OK.
