Memory advice

Hi everybody

I am looking for some 2x512 memory modules that can run FSb240/230 at 2-2-2-11 timmings.


Right now i am running 2x512 OCZ Plat Rev 2 tcc5 at 2,5-3--3-11 FSB 240.
(very good modules will keep them for my next upgrade)


Tried OCZ Gold GX 2-2-2-5 but had no luck running cas 2 only cas 2,5.
(just sold them)


Can someone with similar configuration help and point me to the right direction ????

Your timing is little off(2-2-2-11) It should be something like 2-2-2-5 or 6
I believe any samsung TCCD or TCC5 and BH-5 UTT should run at 240fsb w/ 2-2-2-(5,6, or 7) depending on your system, but for sure at 2.5-3-3-7.
what mobo or what is your setup/ It would help those wanting to help.

I don't know any TCCD or TCC5 that runs 2-2-2-5 at 480mhz so forget about it. You should get 2-2-2-X with those 4000VX or mushkin redlines but you need some volts to get that. The only other way are BH5 but those are unlikely hitting 250 with 2-2-2-X even with extreme voltage.

I would give another try to OCZ VX

well mine does 224fsb 2.2.2.5 set on auto. But for some reason I can not raise my fsb more than that-computer wont start. My mobo is very limited and did best manualy to bring it to 2.5-3-3-7 @232fsb. If you have a good mobo it should run 2.2.2.(6,7). 5 may be too tight. so i admit my mistake. happy

barton mobile 2500 (230x10,5) 1,71v
Abit an-7
ocz plat rev2 tcc5 2,5-3-4-11 2,80v
9800 pro @ xt

I have to say that i am pleased with the performance of my Plat Rev2.
But as we always want more i was looking to run cas 2.

Tried with the Gold GX 2-2-2-5 but no luck....Did not run cas 2 with my Nforce 2 chipset.

So do you think i should go VX????
Will it perform cas 2 with NForce 2 ?????
Vx requires high Volts and my mobo goes up to 3.2
Is that enough?????

well with barton core it is unlikely that your nforce 2 chipset will handle 250FSB. Sorry bro but it's about time to upgrade to A64

on nforce 2 I would pick cheap OCZ gold BH5
