I have a wireless phone 6 feet from my computer and I have a wifi card in there. In windows the signal strength is very good. But loading webpages is a little slower.
Certain wireless phones can interfere with 802.11. What phone do you have? Are you using 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11a?

go to run, type cmd, hit enter. in the command, type ping 192.168.1.1 (or whatever your router's ip is). It should be somewhere around 2-5ms.

id try switching channels on the phone and the wifi if u can
My phone definitely kills my internet. I have 802.11g on my desktop, and my phone which is on top of my desk also runs on 2.4ghz. I play xbox live a lot (using ICS on my pc so I can get wireless), and whenever the damn phone rings I lag out like mad. My solution? Turn off the phone.
