ok well im sick of this. no matter how many giudes i go through on the net i walways still end up having a nat problem according to azureus(the faces always stay yellow no matter what). now most of the guides ive gone trough basically just say to forward port blah blah blah and it never works. i have an linksys BEFSR81 .and i thought maybye there is some sort of upgrading of the drivers that can be done(if there are drivers for routers) or anything all i want is to fix this problem so if anyone has any ideas please help me

It may be that your ISP is blocking connections to bittorrent's default port... I wouldn't be surprised, given the amount of load it puts on networks.

Try changing your bittorrent port and trying the guides again.

well trust me i followed the guides i found at least on how to fix nat problems 100%. but also i am a noob so i really need specific instructions on like what other ports to forward besides 6881-6889 and 16881-16889 cuz those didnt fix it either

1. Go into Azureus configuration, and click Tools/Options. Click on the 'Connection' option in the listbox, and the first box should read "6881 Incoming TCP Listen Port". Change that to 7881 or another port of your choice.
2. Go into your router, and map incoming port 7881, TCP and UDP to your computer's IP on port 7881.

alright thanks ill see how it works

"nd map incoming port 7881"

is that just the same as forwarding..oh and in the forwarding options in my router i undid the 6881-6889 udp and tcp and switched it to 7881-7889 udp and tcp to my ip. and so far im getting like 10 kb/s less then i did and there still all yellow :temper: :temper: this is so frustrating.............hmm i also remember hearing something about port 6969 being the tracker port maybye this is a problem? oh and how exactly do i forward just one port. when i go to the http://192.168.#.#(not saying numbers because im paranoid like that) it always asks port# to port#

Please see http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/LikelyFaultySocketSelector for help." um what do i do now

Steps to getting bittorrent to work:

FInd out the port range your tracker is restricting, many are starting to refuse the default ports.

Set your BT client to use an approved port, it can be anything but be sure its above 1024.

Set your computerto have a static IP that is off your router's DHCP range

Forward the port you have chosen to use for BT to the IP you have set static.

Done.

You do not need to open the tracker port unless you are running a tracker. In azureus there is also upnp forwarding so you could enable upnp on your router and then that should work as well.

Try getting newer firmware for that router.

Enable port forwarding, select your range, don't forget to put network address of your computer. If your network address is 192.168.1.101 and you have port forwarding enabled for 192.168.1.100 then port forwarding won't work. Port forwarding is the key in making bittorent go green.

ok,I think what flew was saying was what your have already done. Except maybe the static ip part, but I dont think that's your problem. Nothing free comes easy, right? Sorry I dont even have a better place to point you, have you tried torrentspy.com's forums? I would try something like that

alright well i set up a static ip addres, made sure i was forwarding the ports to the right ip addres, and forwarded ports 16881-16889 tcp/udp. and yet STILL i fail to get get faces which mean i am not d/l as fast as i should be. but i have come to the conclusion that i have done everything right except that someone is messed up with the tracker(always says under tracker status: connection error). now i read somewhere in the guides over at torrentspy.com that the tracker port is 6969, could it be that something is wrong with that port or do i need to forward tha port too?

edit well i tried forwarding port 6969 and no luck nothing changed. but what i did notice is that after i did all those changes listed above i am getting a slight increase in d/l speed and the faces are always blue indicating that everything is good except the tracker is down.
