Coming back to watercooling after a hiatus of convienience

It seems that a lot more people are using 120.2 style rads, but my last watercooled case was huge and cumbersome, my goal this time is to stuff a setup into my Lian Li PC7A. Will be tight, but possible with a 120.1. Does anyone have any info on the actual cooling boost gained by a 120.2 rather than a 120.1? Is it really so much better? My impression is that there is probably a bit of gain, but the restriction would limit it to the point that its more for the 'bawls' factor.

I'll be cooling the gpu and cpu in my sig, and if one rad is going to be *SO* much worse, I'd consider some heavy case modding to fit a double in the top.

Thanks :)

lol- edit to remove the "not to hijack the thread here" sentence, was originally going ot post in another thread and decided it was too OT :)

About the boost from getting a 120.2, and the gain in temps it will get you. I read about 2 months ago in a pc mag that the difference between a 120.1 and 120.2 was about 5c and 5c again for a 120.3. Now I cannot remember the CPU they used or, what fans. But if you want to cram everything into your case, I don't know a 120.2 is worth the hassel. From personal experience, i had a 120.1 heatercore, and went to a 120.2 heatercore, plus a GPU block. My temps went up around 3C on the CPU, but i didn't have a 120mm screamer on the 120.2, just two quiet fans, but then i had the room to do so, you could always mount the rad outside the case etc. I'm sure a lot of people here will have some ideas.

5c eh? Nice gain but still probably not enough to make me go nuts modding that rad into a smallish midtower.

Which reminds me, Part 2 of this post is:

Anyone have pics of their PC7A/B systems watercooled? Been considering lots of mounting options and it would be nice to see what others have implemented. This is new territory for me as my last aforementioned case was a gigantic 11 5.25" bay server case tower. :P

One more thing, I have been considering getting a res over a t-line this time, mostly for looks. Of that accord I was thinking of a Danger Den Dual-3.5" bay Acryllic res. Would look pretty badass with the mods that I'm planning.

Thing is, I *THINK* they only offer it in 3/8" ID barbs. I could just use a passthrough that converted 3/8 to 1/2, but that would add a lot of unnecesary restriction. Wondering if I'm wrong on this or what, and just to get general impressions of that res if anyone here has experience with it.

Disclaimer- I know a t-line is better and a rad is useless, but I've always used a T and I want something prettier :)

http://thermal-management-testing.com/ThermoChill.htm <- I suggest giving this a good long read. Those rads are pretty much the same as the BIX series radiators.

Also according to www.dangerden.com you can get 1/2" fittings for it. Also those things are unsafe IMHO (too many leaks)
